Workrite recently attended two of the largest industry trade shows, The Clean Show and ASSE Safety in June. Below are summaries of the shows as written by our Regional Account Executives.

Flame Retardant Leader Workrite Uniform Co. Attends ASSE National Convention

Workrite recently attended the National Convention of the ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) in Chicago’s McCormick Place.  While the Cubs and deep dish pizza remained at the top of the must see lists, ASSE announced that this year’s conference was the most highly attended show ever within the ASSE organization.  The show floor indicated just that!  Brisk floor traffic brought sales professionals from all parts of the United States, Canada, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and as far away as New Zealand. Clearly, current and future safety trends were of the highest global priority.

Leading the safety segment, Flame Retardant clothing was one of the most highly sought and researched product categories within the conference.  Industry leading fabric suppliers Dupont and Westex highlighted the conference with Dupont’s inherently flame retardant Protera and Westex’ ASSE introduction of the new Ultra Soft (AC) Advanced Comfort fabrics.  Both were remarkably well received by attendees.

Distribution partners Hagemeyer , Airgas, Dillon Supply, and Fastenal were in attendance along with Industrial Laundry partners Cintas, GK Services, and Aramark.  From every market vertical, there was an overwhelming consensus that that OSHA’s enforcement of PPE is becoming more punitive and corrective enforcement was being issued across the United States.

The Clean Show – Las Vegas, NV

The Clean Show once again did not disappoint. Tuesday was the busiest day on the floor, and we saw interest in FR clothing from every region in the U.S.There were international attendees and exhibitors from Mexico,Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

One of the most interesting developments this year was the interest fromMontana laundries in FR programs due to the increase in drilling companies in the area.

It’s always great getting to be able to mingle with our users and to be on the forefront of advancements in the industry.
