I recently read the second draft of the 2015 NFPA 70E standard, and I noted an interesting addition. The standard will now specifically state that shirts should be tucked in when worn on the jobsite.

I am asked this question periodically, and at Workrite, we have always maintained that shirts should be tucked in for added protection. In the past, I’ve spoken with several members of both NFPA and ASTM about adding this specification to the standard. Seeing that it will now be added to the NFPA 70E standard will validate what we have been suggesting.
