Hello out there – I received another great question from a reader that I thought I would share.

John S. asks: “Is there a specific Hazard/Risk Assessment that must be used or that is recommended in reference to using or requiring flame-resistant clothing?”

Thank you to John for asking the question and here is my response:

Depending on the hazard, there are NFPA standards that can help determine how to asses your specific risk. If electric arc flash is the hazard, check out NFPA 70E. If a flash fire is the hazard, check NFPA 2113. Each hazard presents different and thus may affect your final choice of FR garments. If these sources do not supply you with what you need, please let me know and I will get you in touch with assessment resources
