In the February 2014 OSHA update flier, it was mentioned that the rule-making process for the proposed combustible dust rule had been delayed.
The Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Act (SBRFA) panel was moved from November 2013 to April 2014. This is just one more delay for an OSHA rule that has been in the works since the National Emphasis Program (NEP) was initiated in 2008.
However, OSHA does continue to inspect and cite companies for failure to protect workers from potential combustible dust hazards.
